This year was the first year Noah & I have ever had trick-or-treaters. We moved to a new neighborhood (out of our apartment) and we were so excited to finally have little ones ringing our doorbell on Halloween!
Needless to say we went a little crazy buying Halloween candy only to realize that our neighborhood is actually pretty small. We had enough candy for about 5 of our neighborhoods put together… soooo that means we had a TON of leftover candy, as I’m sure a lot of you do!! What better way to use up the leftovers than making blondies?!
What are Leftover Halloween Candy Blondies
Ok so you may be thinking… what in the world are blondies??? Let me introduce you to the brownie-like dessert that will knock your socks off. Based off the name, you can probably go ahead and guess that they’re basically brownies, just made without the cocoa powder, and with extra vanilla. They may look like cookies, but they have the perfect texture of gooey brownies.
Instead of using regular old butter, I opted for browned butter in these to bring in that extra nutty flavor that I absolutely adore in anything baked. If you don’t know how to brown butter, don’t worry though, it’s so easy I honestly think our little baby Owen could do it–and I’m going to walk you through it!

Here’s what you’ll need:
- All-purpose flour
- Baking soda
- Salt
- Butter
- Light brown sugar
- Granulated sugar
- Pure vanilla extract
- Large eggs

Tips for Making Leftover Halloween Candy Blondies
Here’s some quick tips to help make your blondies extra gooey and tasty:
- Cream your butter and sugars – I know it seems like a long time, but its really important to cream these together for at least 3 minutes. It helps make the texture of the blondies that much better, just trust me.
- Don’t overmix the batter! Because no one likes tough blondies. I’m all about ooey-gooey-on-the-inside anything, and not overmixing the batter will help with that 🙂
- Don’t overbake the blondies – 30 minutes is plenty of time, and if the blondies get overbaked they’ll be tough and crunchy instead of soft and gooey. Not exactly ideal, wouldn’t you agree?

Leftover Halloween Candy Blondies
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup butter at room temperature
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 Tbsp pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs at room temperature
- 2 cups chopped Halloween candies (I used m&ms, twix bars, reese's, milk duds, snickers, etc.)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 10- x- 15-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Combine flour, baking soda and salt in a large bowl; set aside.
- Beat butter and sugars in the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment 3 minutes or until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs, one at a time, with the mixer running on low speed until combined, scraping down sides of bowl as needed.
- Slowly beat in flour mixture on low speed until well combined, making sure not to over mix the batter.
- Remove the bowl from the stand, and fold in candy. Spread batter into prepared pan; bake 30 minutes or until sides are lightly golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cut into bars.
